Career as a Sales Manager

 
We came to know about Sales Manager as a career option from Ruben Pranata who is the Sales Operations Manager at ICICI BANK.

He initially got the job of an Assistant Sales Manager as that was the only post vacant after doing his graduation in Commerce. Before joining the Sales force , he was trained by ICICI Bank Sales Academy. This training ensured that he was well equipped in Selling skills and rules and regulations pertaining to the job responsibility. He was conferred a certification in Retail  Banking Sales Management from the Academy. The  course curriculum has been designed by ICICI Bank to groom the aspirants for taking over the frontline sales function in the bank.

Education qualifications
Candidates have to be minimum XII pass and have two years of experience or a graduate in any stream.

According to him , the sales manager are responsible for achieving sales targets and sell new products and service opportunities. They have to resolve customer queries and ensure customer satisfaction. They also have to maintain periodic status reports including daily activity report and calls.

According to him , only those who possess good communication skills ,have  command over language and good mental ability and tact in dealing with people  intelligently can consider a career as a sales manager.
 
Challenges faced by him in his profession are
1.Negotiating to preserve price
2.Creating client-focused dialogues
3.Ensuring that  there is right sales talent to execute the strategy.
